The festive season approachesNovember 12, 2015
We have had a fantastic start to the term, with some great new players and the election of our new conductor, Ross Gubby, who is currently in his first year studying for a BA in Music (see the committee page for more information about Ross). Now, as Christmas approaches, the calendar is quickly filling up with festive events. York is known for its big Christmas market - the St Nicholas Christmas Market. Once again, we have been invited to perform at this event and so you can hear us on Parliament Street in York from 6:30pm on 26th November and 3rd December. If you're visiting the market, come along and listen-we'll be playing a selection of popular Christmas music.
Our big event this term is the annual winter concert-our Festive Showcase. We are playing a selection of popular brass music as well as some festive favourites, so it promises to be a great seasonal event with something for everyone. The concert is on 29th November at 7:30pm in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall (directions) and tickets can be purchased on the door. We look forward to seeing you there!
